Collagen Drink Recipes and How to Drink Collagen Powder

Collagen Drink Recipes

One of the most lifestyle-friendly features of our 100% pure hydrolysed collagen powder is its versatility. You can bake it into biscuits, bread and traybakes. You can stir it into yoghurt, casseroles, curries and soups. You can add it to salad dressings, dips and cereals.

And, of course, you can drink it.

Does drinking collagen work?

Drinking Edible Health collagen powder is an incredibly efficient and rapid way to introduce this protein into your bloodstream. Our premium collagen powder is 100% hydrolysed to make it easier and faster for the small intestine to absorb and digest

What are the benefits of drinking collagen?

Whether you eat or drink your collagen, your body will still digest and absorb it in the same way. Despite some of the nonsense being bandied around in the press lately, it doesn’t matter how you take your collagen. What matters is that the collagen you are taking is of the highest quality and is hydrolysed using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes. That said, many people find that drinking their collagen is the quickest and easiest way to get their daily dose to fit conveniently into their lifestyle.

In terms of real-life health benefits, we receive customer reviews daily from our collagen family. They all swear by the collagen benefits they have experienced, regardless of how they take it. These include:

How to drink collagen powder

Below you will see a link to some incredibly nutritious, yummy and innovative collagen drink recipes created mostly by our friend and foodie fanatic, Peachy Palate

However, these collagen drink recipes are just one of many creative culinary ways to enjoy your ‘miracle molecule’. A considerable number of our customers enjoy the simplicity of just adding collagen to their daily tea or coffee, whilst others add it to freshly-squeezed orange juice (a great idea, as vitamin C supports collagen production). Then some make it even simpler by stirring it into plain and pure, good old-fashioned water!

How to drink collagen powder is entirely up to your taste and your lifestyle. The effects will be the same no matter how you choose to take it, just as long as you take it!

By the way, if you’ve heard that heating collagen will compromise it, that’s absolute nonsense. We’re calling out these collagen cowboys, and you can read more here where we sort fact from fiction about this and so many other collagen myths. Never hesitate to contact us about this or anything else if you have any questions or are confused at all - we’d love to hear from you.

How to prepare collagen powder to drink

Edible Health offers two types of collagen powder products - plain powder and powder blends. How you prepare your collagen drink depends on which of our protein powders you have.

Drinking Edible Health plain Bovine or plain Marine powder

Because these contain nothing but pure hydrolysed powder from either bovine sources (cow) or marine sources (fish), all you need to do is stir in your collagen into any hot or cold drinks and watch it rapidly dissolve! Most of our customers consider these pure powders to be bland and highly adaptable to any recipe. Cocktails included!

Not sure which collagen is best? It all comes down to your preferences because bovine and marine pure collagen are equally effective

How to Drink Collagen Powder

Drinking Edible Health collagen powder blends

Our Edible Health blended powders, Anti-Ageing Collagen and Digestive Enzyme Collagen, contain additional, highly active ingredients to help target specific well-being goals or challenges.

Due to the fat-soluble nature of the super nutrients contained within these blends, there is an extra step in the preparation process:

  1. Add the powder to a liquid such as milk or oil (we love oat milk, MCT or coconut oil) and mix vigorously into a smooth paste
  2. Add the paste to your drink and stir, shake or whisk thoroughly before consuming

That said, many of our customers say they add it straight to their juices and smoothies, so play around with what works best for you. Just remember that each of these blends has its own unique, 100% natural flavour - zesty, summery raspberry for our Anti-Ageing Collagen and tangy, tropical pineapple for our Digestive Enzyme Collagen.

And if you fancy a change from drinking your collagen - try sprinkling one of our blends directly onto your muesli or on top of ice cream if you’re feeling adventurous. It’s a cheeky way to add a healthy twist to a naughty nibble!

How often to drink collagen and how much collagen to serve

We recommend a serving size of 13 grams of Edible Health collagen per day for our plain collagen powders. This is the equivalent of approximately two tablespoons (depending on the size of your spoon!).

Due to their additional ingredients, we recommend a serving size of 15 grams for Digestive Enzyme Collagen and 20 grams for Anti-Ageing Collagen.

Remember - collagen is not an overnight wonder! In the same way, it takes time for your body to use protein to build muscle or heal tissue damage. It takes time for your body to use collagen protein to heal, repair and rejuvenate. Results can be as quick as a few days, or they could take a few months - so be patient, consistent and persistent. It will pay off!

If you’ve not yet purchased collagen and are wondering about the best form to take, we strongly recommend this read about collagen powder versus liquids, tablets and gummies. It is a mind-opener!
